The United Kingdom becomes the first country to authorize the Pfizer vaccine, with the US and Canada following close behind.
Health officials promote technology to track who has had a jab with the intent of issuing vaccination cards to everyone who has submitted to the Covid-19 injections.
After the Covid vaccine rollout, several kinds of adverse side effects come to light and are found to be much worse than the side effects of flu shots. Trial participants warn that the most intense symptoms come after they take a second shot. Operation Warp Speed's leader reveals that 10–15% of vaccine recipients in the clinical trials have had noticeable and sometimes severe side effects.
Tech companies like Facebook affirm they will begin removing “vaccine misinformation.”
Local and state governments pile on Covid restrictions. At the same time, the mainstream media releases a barrage of stories highlighting Covid case counts and deaths.
President-elect Joe Biden makes two big announcements: His National Economic Council will be led by Brian Deese of BlackRock and he will issue a 100-days-of-masking decree.
The coronavirus pandemic policies create a surge in demand for contactless payments, accelerating the shift from cash to digital options. BIS and Swiss National Bank announce successful CBDC experiments.
Amnesty International releases reports on violations of human rights, such as the abandonment of older people by staff in care homes in Spain and Italy during the pandemic. These reports note a surge in “coronavirus deaths” in nursing homes.
New Jersey vaccinates more than 30,000 long-term care residents and staff. One week later a big spike in New Jersey’s Covid nursing home deaths is reported.
The Trump administration buys another 100 million doses of Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine.
Polls show tepid confidence in vaccine development as the vaccine rollout nears. By late December, the US has vaccinated only 1 million people out of the government’s goal of 20 million for that month.
Fauci declares he’s disappointed with the Covid vaccine rollout: Uptake is only one-tenth of what he expected by year's end. He insists the country can return to normal by summer 2021 only if 75 percent to 80 percent of Americans are vaccinated.
Many frontline health care workers refuse Covid vaccines.
Suggestions that Americans may be forced to take the vaccine start circulating in the media. Other strategies to increase vaccine uptake, such as financial incentives, are discussed.
December 1, 2020 — The International Consortium of Scientists in Life Sciences (ICSLS), led by ex-Pfizer scientist Dr. Michael Yeadon and German public health expert Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg, files an application with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) requesting the immediate suspension of all SARS-CoV-2 vaccine studies.
In the 43-page document, Yeadon and Wodarg lay out multiple reasons to stop the covid vaxx experiments, including:
“II. Petitioner deems the current study designs for the Phase II/III trials of BNT162b (‘the Pfizer/BioNTech trial’) to be inadequate to accurately assess efficacy.”
“III. Petitioner and the public will suffer irreparable harm if the actions requested herein are not granted, because once the EMA (and other appropriate bodies in the various EU member states) approves the COVID-19 vaccines in question, both governments of EU member states and employers in the EU are most likely going to recommend them for widespread use.”
“IV. Furthermore, if the vaccines are approved without an appropriate and accurate review of efficacy, then any potential acceptance or mandate of these vaccines is likely to be based on inaccurate evidence regarding the vaccine, namely that it will stop transmission of the virus[.]”
[ . . .]
“X. In the Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA vaccine candidate, polyethylene glycol (PEG) is found in the fatty lipid nanoparticle coating around the mRNA.”
“XI. Several vaccine candidates are expected to induce the formation of humoral antibodies against spike proteins of SARS-CoV-2.”
December 1, 2020 — Frontier Centre for Public Policy: Pfizer documents show they knew their vaccine had limited efficacy
“Team 1 reported that from December 1, 2020, ‘Pfizer was aware that the vaccine . . . had limited efficacy.’ They reported ‘1,625 serious cases of vaccine ineffectiveness . . . .’ This included 136 people dying of COVID-19- related pneumonia after getting the Pfizer shot.”
According to Daily Clout, for the first three months post-FDA authorization, Pfizer received multiple reports of both vaccine failure and vaccine ineffectiveness.
December 1, 2020 — CNBC: “Pfizer, BioNTech apply for Covid vaccine approval in Europe”
“U.S. pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech said they have applied to the European Medicines Agency for the conditional marketing authorization of their coronavirus vaccine.
“If the authorization is granted, it could enable use of the vaccine in Europe this month, BioNTech said.
“Such authorization is granted to medicines ‘that address unmet medical needs of patients on the basis of less comprehensive data than normally required,’ the EMA says on its website.”
December 1, 2020 — ABC News: “FDA chief Stephen Hahn summoned to White House amid pressure to authorize vaccine emergency use”
“The head of the Food and Drug Administration was summoned to the White House Tuesday amid President Donald Trump's frustration that his agency hasn’t moved faster to authorize Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine for emergency use, officials familiar with the meeting told ABC News.
“FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn spent about an hour and a half at the White House Tuesday morning for a scheduled meeting with chief of staff Mark Meadows.”
December 1, 2020 — CBS News: “Pence tells governors coronavirus vaccine distribution could begin in 2 weeks”
“Some doses of the COVID-19 vaccine could begin to be distributed as early as mid-December, Vice President Mike Pence told the nation's governors during a conference call with the White House Coronavirus Task Force Monday.
“‘We strongly believe the vaccine distribution process could begin as soon as the week of December 14,’ Pence said, according to audio of the call obtained by CBS News. ‘With this morning's news that Moderna is joining Pfizer in submitting an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), we continue to be on pace.’
“The main focus of the call, which was led by the vice president, was to lay out the timeline of vaccine approval and distribution.”
December 1, 2020 — Newsmax Health: "Operation Warp Speed leader says ’10–15 Percent of Vax Recipients Have Significant Side Effects’”
“Dr. Moncef Slaoui, the leader of the Trump administration’s vaccine program for COVID-19 called Operation Warp Speed, said that both Pfizer and Moderna’s drugs are safe but produced noticeable side effects in 10% to 15% of people who received the vaccine in clinical trials.”
“Dr. Carlos del Rio, of the Emory Vaccine Center at Emory University, who was involved in testing the Moderna vaccine, said the side effects from the drug were similar to those triggered by the shingles vaccine.
“‘You feel terrible for a day or two but then you’re fine,’ he said, according to NPR, adding that the discomfort is a small price to pay to have protection from a potentially deadly disease. ‘We’re going to have to do very good messaging to people this is not COVID-19, it’s a side effect of the vaccine and it’s OK to have it,’ he said. ‘It actually means the vaccine is working.’”
December 2, 2020 — Pfizer Press Release: UK Approves Pfizer and BioNTech Vaccine: First Authorization in the World for a Vaccine to Combat COVID-19
Among the Pfizer talking points:
“U.K. regulator, MHRA, authorizes supply of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine for emergency supply under Regulation 174; companies are ready to deliver the first doses to the U.K. immediately”
“First authorization for a COVID-19 vaccine represents a breakthrough scientific achievement to help combat this devastating pandemic”
“The companies previously signed an agreement to supply a total of 40 million doses to the U.K. with delivery in 2020 and 2021”
“U.S. FDA and EU EMA decisions on authorization are expected in December”
December 2, 2020 — The Guardian: “Pubs and venues may turn away people not Covid-vaccinated, says minister”
The subtitle reads:
“Nadhim Zahawi, in charge of UK rollout, says technology could help track who has had jab.”
Key excerpts from the article:
“Customers who have refused a Covid-19 vaccine could be turned away by hospitality and sports venues, the government’s vaccine minister has suggested, as he discussed the idea of using technology to reopen the economy.
“Nadhim Zahawi, who was appointed on Saturday to be responsible for overseeing the rollout of the jab, said that while having the vaccine would not be compulsory, businesses such as pubs and restaurants might require proof that people have been vaccinated before allowing them in.
“It raises questions over whether the government might use immunity passports as a way to get people back into shops and hospitality venues after a vaccine is licensed.”
December 2, 2020 — CNN: “Vaccination cards will be issued to everyone getting Covid-19 vaccine, health officials say”
“The Department of Defense released the first images of a Covid-19 vaccination record card and vaccination kits Wednesday.
“Vaccination cards will be used as the ‘simplest’ way to keep track of Covid-19 shots, said Dr. Kelly Moore, associate director of the Immunization Action Coalition, which is supporting frontline workers who will administer Covid-19 vaccinations.”
“As far as vaccine kits, the DoD image shows the kits include a card, a needle and syringe, alcohol wipes and a mask. Operation Warp Speed has 100 million vaccine kits ready to go if and when distribution of a coronavirus vaccine starts, Gen. Gustave Perna, Warp Speed’s chief operating officer, said last month.”
December 2, 2020 — NBC News: “Oregon doctor and staff refuse to wear masks during pandemic, calling Covid ‘common cold’”
“The doctor, Steven LaTulippe, made the comments Nov. 7 during a ‘Stop the Steal’ rally in support of President Donald Trump to a group gathered outside the State Capitol in Salem.
“‘I want to expose what I call corona mania,’ LaTulippe says in a video shared on YouTube by the political group Multnomah County Republicans and first reported by NBC affiliate KGW of Portland.
“‘I want you to know that I never shut down during the entire Covid season. . . . I hate to tell you this, I might scare you, but I and my staff, none of us once wore a mask in my clinic,’ he continued as the crowd cheered. ‘And how many problems did we have in our clinic from that? Zero. Absolutely none.’”
“‘We have been utterly duped, and I want you to know that this is insanity and the purpose was only to shut down the American people.’”
December 3, 2020 — NBC News: “Hundreds protest closing of Staten Island bar that refused Covid-19 measures”
“The large demonstration came a day after Mac’s Public House, a bar in an area where the city prohibits indoor dining, was forced to close its doors after it violated multiple health and liquor laws, the New York City Sheriff’s Office said.
“The protesters, some of whom weren’t wearing masks, blocked traffic and demanded the business reopen as deputies stood outside the tavern.”
December 3, 2020 — Florida HEALTH: “Mandatory Reporting of COVID-19 Laboratory Test Results: Reporting of Cycle Threshold Values”
PJ Media writes of this State of Florida announcement:
“On December 3, in a joint statement, DeSantis and Florida Surgeon General Scott A. Rivkees announced that labs must report the cycle threshold (Ct) and reference ranges on every single test.
“This is important because the higher the Ct, the less likely a person who tests positive will actually become ill or be contagious. In August, a New York Times feature article reported that up to 90% of tests taken in New York, Nevada, and Massachusetts were essentially false positives. The Ct, or number of times a sample is magnified, was so high it could pick up very low levels of the virus.
“According to experts interviewed for that article, the correct cutoff to call a test positive was likely a Ct between 30 and 35. The noted labs in the United States were going as high as 37 to 40. This rate would find a significantly higher number of positive ‘cases.’”
“The most current CDC guidelines on the use of PCR tests under an Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA still require a Ct of 40.”
December 3, 2020 — NBC10 Philadelphia: Biden issues his 100 days of masking decree
“Joe Biden said Thursday that he will ask Americans to commit to 100 days of wearing masks as one of his first acts as president, stopping just short of the nationwide mandate he’s pushed before to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
“The move marks a notable shift from President Donald Trump, whose own skepticism of mask-wearing has contributed to a politicization of the issue. That’s made many people reticent to embrace a practice that public health experts say is one of the easiest ways to manage the pandemic, which has killed more than 275,000 Americans.”
December 3, 2020 — NPR: President-elect Joe Biden announces that his National Economic Council will be led by Brian Deese of BlackRock
“President-elect Joe Biden has tapped former Obama aide Brian Deese as director of the National Economic Council, his top economic adviser at the White House.”
“[T]he pick raised the ire of some progressive groups even before it was made official Thursday because of Deese's work for BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager.
“After his service in the Obama administration, Deese became the global head of sustainable investing at BlackRock.”
“Deese is the second Biden pick to have ties to BlackRock. Wally Adeyemo, Biden’s intended nominee for deputy treasury secretary, was chief of staff to the company’s CEO.”
December 3, 2020 — PBS News: “Vaccines against the coronavirus will have side effects — and that’s a good thing”
In an opinion piece called “The Conversation,” immunologist Matthew Woodruff writes:
“In 2021 hundreds of millions of people will be vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2. The success of that COVID-19 vaccination campaign will heavily depend on public trust that the vaccines are not only effective, but also safe. To build that trust, the medical and scientific communities have a responsibility to engage in difficult discussions with the public about the significant fraction of people who will experience temporary side effects from these vaccines.”
“Simply put, receiving these vaccines will likely make a whole lot of people feel crappy for a few days. That’s probably a good thing, and it’s a far better prospect than long-term illness or death.”
December 3, 2020 — The New York Times: “Facebook says it will remove coronavirus vaccine misinformation”
“The step goes beyond what the social network previously did on vaccine falsehoods by taking down the false claims entirely.
“The move goes a step beyond how Facebook had handled misinformation about other kinds of vaccines. The company had previously made it more difficult to find vaccine misinformation that was not related to the coronavirus by ‘downranking’ it, essentially making it less visible in people’s news feeds.
“But Facebook said it planned to take down Covid-19 vaccine falsehoods entirely if the claims had been discredited or contradicted by health groups including the World Health Organization, the United States Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
NOTE: The word “misinformation” sure depends on who is using it and what it means to them. Is there enough proof that The New York Times was actually pointing three fingers back at itself?
December 3, 2020 — CNBC: “The coronavirus pandemic has caused a surge in demand for contactless payments, accelerating the shift from cash to digital options”
“The Covid-19 pandemic is expected to cause a drastic decline in cash usage due to the risk of contamination.
“‘Over the past six to eight months, we’ve seen the use of cash decline even further, and that’s a trend I think that we’re going to see continue,’ said Jodie Kelley, CEO of Electronic Transactions Association.
“The unprecedented surge in the demand for contactless payment has also led to outstanding performances for major companies offering cashless methods, such as Apple, Square and PayPal. Dan Schulman, the CEO of PayPal, sees it as a sign that digital payments are shifting from ‘being a nice-to-have capability to a must-have essential service.’”
December 3, 2020 — US Department of War: “Operation Warp Speed Leaders Say 20 Million COVID-19 Vaccines May Be Available This Month”
“Health and Human Services Secretary Alex M. Azar II said that key officials with Operation Warp Speed [OWS] report that 20 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine could be distributed this month.
“Azar was joined for a media briefing by Army Gen. Gustave F. Perna, chief operating officer of OWS, and Dr. Moncef Slaoui, chief advisor to OWS.
“OWS wants to encourage all Americans to spread the word about the availability of COVID-19 treatments, Azar said. ‘Vaccines will only bring this pandemic to an end if enough Americans choose to take these vaccines.’”

— linking the digital asset platform to the existing wholesale payment system.”
December 3, 2020 — Amnesty International releases a report about how Spain's older people in care homes were abandoned during the COVID19 pandemic
“A new report by Amnesty International Spain, ‘Abandoned: The lack of protection and discrimination against older people in care homes during the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain,’ reveals that the measures taken by the authorities to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in Catalonia and Madrid have been inefficient and inadequate and have violated at least five human rights of the care home residents.
“As of 15 November 2020, 40,749 people had died from COVID-19 in Spain according to data from the Ministry of Health. At first, several studies estimated that around 70 per cent died in care homes. At present, the central government is expected to publish a report according to which this percentage would be between 50 and 47 percent.”

“The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new coronavirus guidelines, including requesting ‘universal face mask use,’ after the US again set a record for the highest daily number of coronavirus deaths.”
According to the CDC:
“The CDC issued fresh public health guidance on Friday, in a weekly report. It recommended that state or local agencies should ‘issue policies or directives mandating universal use of face masks in indoor (non-household) settings’ — stronger advice than previously issued.
“The CDC also recommended avoiding ‘non-essential indoor spaces’ and postponing travel.”
December 4, 2020 — The Guardian: “Fauci accepts offer of chief medical adviser role in Biden administration”
“Anthony Fauci, the US’s top infectious disease expert in the country’s response to the coronavirus, told NBC News on Friday that he ‘absolutely’ accepted Joe Biden’s offer to join his administration and serve as chief medical adviser.
“‘I said yes right on the spot,’ Fauci told the Today Show’s Savannah Guthrie.
“On Thursday, in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, the president-elect confirmed that he had asked Fauci to continue his role on Donald Trump’s coronavirus taskforce when he takes office 20 January.”
December 4, 2020 — WION: “Pfizer CEO ‘not certain’ if coronavirus vaccine will prevent transmission”
“Pfizer Inc’s CEO Albert Bourla has said that the company is ‘not certain’ if those who receive its vaccine will be able to transmit the coronavirus to others, just one day after the UK became the first to approve the inoculation.
“‘Even though I have had the protection, am I still able to transmit it to other people?’ NBC's Lester Holt asked in an interview on Thursday night, prompting a startling response from Bourla: ‘I think this is something that needs to be examined. We are not certain about that right now,’ said Albert Bourla.”
December 5, 2020 — AP News: “Europe battles surge in coronavirus deaths in nursing homes”
“Mortuary workers are again busy around-the-clock in nursing homes and hospices across Europe, amid outbreaks that this time are causing havoc mostly in facilities spared during the spring.”
“In response, Portugal has deployed military units to train nursing home staff in disinfection. In France, where at least 5,000 institutionalized elderly have died in the past month, and in Germany and Italy, where the summer respite has been followed by an upward turn since September, visits by relatives to nursing homes are being restricted again or banned altogether.”
“But in Spain, where the pandemic has ignited a polarized debate on the country’s ability to care for Europe’s fastest-aging society, nursing home coronavirus deaths have been climbing for two months. They now make up roughly half of all new daily fatalities, a similar share as in March and April.”
December 6, 2020 — CNN: “New Covid-19 stay-at-home orders set to take effect for millions of Californians”
“Tens of millions of people in Southern California, the San Joaquin Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area will find themselves under new stay-at-home orders this week in an effort to slow the spread of Covid-19 and prevent hospitals from being overrun.
“Roughly 33 million of California’s 39 million residents, about 85% of the nation’s most populous state, will be under the orders beginning Sunday evening.”
December 6, 2020 — CNN: Mainstream media releases barrage of stories highlighting covid case counts and deaths
Besides the many articles on the above CNN site, there’s this, for example, from CBS News: “COVID-19 becomes top killer in U.S. as hospitals fill up: ‘It’s one giant ball of anxiety’”
“The coronavirus surpassed heart disease as the leading cause of death in the United States this week, as many of the nation’s hospitals are overwhelmed and officials implement new COVID-19 restrictions.
“A record-breaking 227,00 new cases were reported in the U.S. on Friday alone — the first time the daily case count has topped 220,000, according to a tally from Johns Hopkins University.
“An average of 2,000 people have died of the disease each day since last Saturday. The total U.S. death toll is over a quarter-million, and projections coming from the White House show it could hit half a million by March, CBS News’ Michael George reports.”
“This week, 11 states broke records for new cases reported in a single day.”
December 7, 2020 — The Washington Post: “Amid history of mistreatment, doctors struggle to sell Black Americans on coronavirus vaccine”
“In an online forum for which more than 2,800 people signed up, Fauci talked about the vaccine development process and why it was essential for the Black community to get vaccinated. When Walker polled her congregation afterward, at least half were unpersuaded.
“Black people are nearly three times more likely than Whites to die of covid-19 because of health-care disparities, preexisting conditions and increased exposure at jobs deemed essential. Black children are losing more ground than their peers because of school shutdowns, and Black workers have been devastated by pandemic-related job losses.
“Yet fewer than half of Black Americans say they would get a coronavirus vaccine, compared with 63 percent of Hispanic people and 61 percent of White people, according to a December report from the Pew Research Center. Many Black people say they do not trust the medical establishment because of glaring inequities in modern-day care and historical examples of mistreatment.”
December 7, 2020 — The Wall Street Journal: “Covid and the New Age of Censorship” op-ed by Alex Berenson
“Information has never been more plentiful or easier to distribute. Yet we are sliding into a new age of censorship and suppression, encouraged by technology giants and traditional media companies. As someone who’s been falsely characterized as a coronavirus ‘denier,’ I have seen this crisis firsthand.”
December 7, 2020 — The World Health Organization issues a guidance memo acknowledging that high cycles on PCR tests could result in false positives
According to the “WHO Information Notice for IVD Users”:
“Users of RT-PCR reagents should read the IFU carefully to determine if manual adjustment of the PCR positivity threshold is necessary to account for any background noise which may lead to a specimen with a high cycle threshold (Ct) value result being interpreted as a positive result.”
December 8, 2020 — NewsNation: “UK gives 1st doses of COVID-19 vaccine as world watches”
“Margaret Keenan, who turns 91 next week, got the shot at 6:31 a.m. on what public health officials have dubbed ‘V-Day.’ She was first in line at University Hospital Coventry, one of several hospitals around the country that are handling the initial phase of the United Kingdom’s program. As luck would have it, the second injection went to a man named William Shakespeare, an 81-year-old who hails from Warwickshire, the county where the bard was born.
“‘I feel so privileged to be the first person vaccinated against COVID-19,’ said Keenan, who wore a surgical mask and a blue Merry Christmas T-shirt decorated with a cartoon penguin wearing a Santa hat. “It’s the best early birthday present I could wish for because it means I can finally look forward to spending time with my family and friends in the New Year after being on my own for most of the year.’”
Five months later, the BBC would announce:
“First man to get jab William Shakespeare dies of unrelated illness.”
NOTE: The vaccine Shakespeare received was made by Pfizer-BioNTech.
December 8, 2020 — Health Impact News: Doctors around the world warn against covid shots

December 8, 2020 — NPR: Stephen Hahn, who heads the FDA, tells NPR the agency will likely make a decision about Pfizer's vaccine ‘shortly after’ a meeting on Thursday.
“The Food and Drug Administration has found that there are ‘no specific safety concerns’ that would stop the agency from approving the COVID-19 vaccine made by Pfizer and BioNTech for emergency use.
“Career scientists at the FDA analyzed the data from the ongoing Pfizer trial to form their own conclusions about its safety and efficacy.
“Stephen Hahn, who heads the FDA, says the public analysis is a ‘very, very important part of our promise to the American people that we won’t cut corners in how we assess the safety and effectiveness of a vaccine.’
“Polling from November shows about 40% of Americans are hesitant to take one.”
December 8, 2020 — CNBC/NBC10 Philadelphia: “The FDA Says Pfizer's COVID Vaccine Is Safe and Effective. But Trial Participants Warn of Intense Symptoms After Second Shot”
“The Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine is both safe and effective, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. In a report released Tuesday morning, the FDA indicated that it could greenlight the country’s first COVID-19 inoculation within days.
“If Pfizer’s shot is granted an emergency use authorization, or EUA, the immunizations — which are administered in two doses about three weeks apart — could start as soon as next week.
“Many people are now wondering whether this will be just like getting the flu vaccine.
“The short answer is: No, not really.
“One Pfizer trial participant told CNBC that after the second shot, he woke up with chills, shaking so hard he cracked a tooth. ‘It hurt to even just lay in my bed sheet,’ he said.”
December 8, 2020 — Fox6 Milwaukee: Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson holds hearing on alternative COVID-19 treatments
“Johnson and the witnesses he called accused the medical establishment and health agencies of failing to explore and promote the use of relatively inexpensive drugs previously approved for other uses as early interventions against the coronavirus.”
“Dr. Ramin Oskoui, a cardiologist at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., said practicing physicians were being shamed for using alternative therapies, calling it ‘medical McCarthyism.’
“Johnson said the reaction to his hearings was evidence of the closemindedness of the news media, Democrats, the medical establishment and government health agencies.
“‘It amazes me how these hearings have been attacked,’ said Johnson, whose chairmanship of the Senate’s homeland security committee will end in January.
“Johnson also repeated his claims that the government overreacted to the pandemic, hurting the economy.”
December 8, 2020 — US News & World Report: NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio said he expects coronavirus-related restrictions to be reimplemented ‘in a matter of days’ as the number of “cases” rises across the city.
“The mayor announced that the seven-day average positivity rate across the five boroughs is 4.94%. Tuesday saw 2,624 new COVID-19 cases, above the target threshold of 550, and 161 new hospitalizations, below the threshold of 200 admissions. However, the seven-day average of hospitalizations per 100,000 people has exceeded the threshold of 2 per 100,000 people and is currently at 2.3.”
“The mayor added that shipments of a coronavirus vaccine will begin arriving in New York City next week, ‘but we have to get through the winter first.’”
December 9, 2020 — The New York Times reports that intensive care beds are running out across the country: “‘There’s No Place for Them to Go’: I.C.U. Beds Near Capacity Across U.S.”
“More than a third of Americans live in areas where hospitals are running critically short of intensive care beds, federal data show, revealing a newly detailed picture of the nation’s hospital crisis during the deadliest week of the Covid-19 epidemic.
“Hospitals serving more than 100 million Americans reported having fewer than 15 percent of intensive care beds still available as of last week, according to a Times analysis of data reported by hospitals and released by the Department of Health and Human Services.
“Hospitalization figures collected by the Covid Tracking Project show that the number of people hospitalized with the virus nationwide has doubled since the beginning of November. But existing state-level figures have obscured vast differences within states, making it difficult to recognize local hot spots.”
NOTE: No context is provided to show that it’s not unusual for ICUs to become full in the winter.
December 9, 2020 — AP News: “Idaho health board meeting halted after ‘intense protests’”
“Idaho public health officials abruptly ended a meeting Tuesday after the Boise mayor and chief of police said intense protests outside the health department building — as well as outside some health officials’ homes — were threatening public safety.
“The request from Boise Mayor Lauren McLean and the Boise Police Department came just a few minutes after one health board member, Ada County Commissioner Diana Lachiondo, tearfully interrupted the online meeting to say she had to rush home from work to be with her son. The board had been expected to vote on a four-county mask mandate in Idaho’s most populated region.”
December 9, 2020 — AP News: “US panel endorses widespread use of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine”
“A U.S. government advisory panel endorsed widespread use of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine Thursday, putting the country just one step away from launching an epic vaccination campaign against the outbreak that has killed close to 300,000 Americans.”
“‘This is a light at the end of the long tunnel of this pandemic,’ declared Dr. Sally Goza, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
“In a 17-4 vote with one abstention, the government advisers concluded that the vaccine from Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech appears safe and effective for emergency use in adults and teenagers 16 and over.”
“All eyes now turn to the FDA staff scientists who will make the final decision of whether to press ahead with large-scale immunizations with Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine. The FDA’s vaccine director, Dr. Peter Marks, said a decision would come within ‘days to a week.’”
December 9, 2020 — NPR: “US DOD Unveils Its Coronavirus Vaccine Distribution Plan”
“The Department of Defense aims to administer just under 44,000 doses of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine within 24 to 48 hours of authorization for emergency use. U.S. Food and Drug Administration officials have said they will make a decision soon after they hear from an advisory committee which meets Thursday.
“The vaccine will be distributed through 16 DOD installations, 13 in the U.S and three overseas. The facilities selected are in California, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Washington, director of the Defense Health Agency Army Lt. Gen. Ronald Place said in a news conference Wednesday."

“The survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows about a quarter of U.S. adults aren’t sure if they want to get vaccinated against the coronavirus. Roughly another quarter say they won’t.
“‘Trepidation is a good word. I have a little bit of trepidation towards it,’ said Kevin Buck, a 53-year-old former Marine from Eureka, California.”
December 9, 2020 — US News & World Report: “Pentagon: Troops Won’t Be Required to Take Coronavirus Vaccine”
“Members of the military won't be required to take a coronavirus vaccine when it comes available through a new trial plan the Pentagon announced Wednesday, but that could change if the Food and Drug Administration moves beyond the emergency approval that currently allows for the initial distribution of the vaccine.
“‘Voluntary for everyone,’ Army Lt. Gen. Ronald Place, chief of the Defense Health Agency, told reporters at a press conference at the Pentagon. ‘No ifs, ands or buts about it. Voluntary for everyone.’”
NOTE: This policy will be reversed in 2021, when Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III issues a memorandum directing mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for service members.
December 9, 2020 — Health Canada: Canada authorizes use of Pfizer vaccine
Canada becomes the third country to authorize use of the Covid-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE after the United Kingdom and Bahrain.
“Health Canada received Pfizer's submission on October 9, 2020 and after a thorough, independent review of the evidence, Health Canada has determined that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine meets the Department's stringent safety, efficacy and quality requirements for use in Canada.”
“Canadians can feel confident that the review process was rigorous and that we have strong monitoring systems in place. Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada will closely monitor the safety of the vaccine once it is on the market and will not hesitate to take action if any safety concerns are identified.”
A related article in CBC News notes:
“Dr. Howard Njoo, Canada’s deputy chief public health officer, said 249,000 doses of the two-dose Pfizer vaccine will be on hand by year’s end — shots primarily earmarked for long-term care home residents and the staff working there.”
December 9, 2020 — The Harvard Gazette: At Harvard University talk, Anthony Fauci says that the country can get back to normal by summer 2021 if 75 percent to 80 percent of Americans are vaccinated
“Fauci spoke at an online “When Public Health Means Business” event sponsored by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the New England Journal of Medicine.”
December 10, 2020 — FDA: FDA Holds Advisory Committee Meeting to Discuss Authorization of COVID-19 Vaccine Candidate as Part of Agency’s Review of Safety and Effectiveness Data
“The meeting presentations will be heard, viewed, captioned, and recorded through an online teleconferencing platform. On December 10, 2020, the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research’s (CBER), Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC) will meet in open session to discuss Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 in individuals 16 years of age and older.”
VRBPAC issues a briefing document for the FDA:
“Available data do not indicate a risk of vaccine-enhanced disease, and conversely suggest effectiveness against severe disease within the available follow-up period. However, risk of vaccine-enhanced disease over time, potentially associated with waning immunity, remains unknown and needs to be evaluated further in ongoing clinical trials and in observational studies that could be conducted following authorization and/or licensure.”
The FDA issues a press release:
“We recognize the urgent need for medical countermeasures to diagnose, treat, and prevent this novel virus and have been working diligently to facilitate their development and availability.”
“The FDA is considered the ‘gold standard’ regulator of medical products. The process that the FDA uses to review is respected worldwide because of a well-established history that the FDA has among the most rigorous — and accurate — review processes globally. Normally, the review process for vaccines studied in tens of thousands of people takes months.
“Even though the process has been expedited in association with the review of this EUA, the FDA’s expert review staff has reviewed thousands of pages of technical information.”
“In this time of great urgency, FDA staff feel the responsibility to move as quickly as possible through the review process. However, they know that they must carry out their mandate to protect the public health and to ensure that any authorized vaccine meets our rigorous standards for safety and effectiveness that the American people have come to expect.”
December 10, 2020 — BMJ: “Covid-19: FDA panel votes to authorise Pfizer BioNTech vaccine”
“The US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) independent panel of experts voted on 10 December in favour of emergency use authorisation for the Pfizer BioNTech covid-19 vaccine. The FDA is expected to approve the vaccine within days. Distribution to the states would then begin immediately. Full FDA approval will likely follow.
“The one-day hearing of the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee was broadcast live on YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. Questions were raised about the safety of the vaccine in people who have had severe allergic reactions and carry an epinephrine injection device, after two allergic reactions were reported in the UK following vaccination. Paul Offit, a vaccine expert at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, said that ‘tens of millions of Americans’ might be at risk because of such allergies. The committee also questioned giving the vaccine to people aged 16 or 17 and to women who are pregnant or lactating. The committee voted 17-4 in favour of approving the vaccine with one abstention.
“Next week the FDA will consider emergency use authorisation for Moderna’s covid-19 vaccine.
“Pfizer has said it expects to produce 50 million doses of its vaccine this year and 1.3 billion by the end of 2021. Each person vaccinated is to receive two doses about a month apart. If approved, Moderna could provide 100 million doses of its vaccine, which also requires two injections.”
December 10, 2020 — CNBC: “Dr. Fauci says Covid vaccine trials on pregnant women and young kids could begin in January”
“Drugmakers and U.S. regulators plan to launch clinical trials in January testing the safety of Covid-19 vaccines on pregnant women and young children, said Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
“Those two groups were excluded from the first Covid-19 vaccine clinical trials until researchers could determine that the vaccine was relatively safe in healthy adults before testing it in more vulnerable populations.”
December 10, 2020 — CDC launches COVID-19 V-safe After Vaccination Health Checker
“V-safe is a smartphone-based tool that uses text messaging and web surveys to provide personalized health check-ins after you receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Through v-safe, you can quickly tell CDC if you have any side effects after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Depending on your answers, someone from CDC may call to check on you and get more information. And v-safe will remind you to get your second COVID-19 vaccine dose if you need one.”
December 11, 2020 — NBC News: “From Wuhan to Coventry: Tracking the coronavirus in pictures”
On his Substack page, Toby Rogers asks of these photos:
Rogers makes an observation about the photographer, too:
“Héctor Retamal based in Shanghai and employed by Agence France-Presse (AFP) somehow got to Wuhan, took several pictures, which were distributed worldwide by Getty Images.”
And he speaks of one photograph in particular:
“Furthermore, everything about the image is contrived. People did not just die in the streets from Covid. The body was too neat — he just fell flat on his back in a perfectly comfortable resting position with no limbs akimbo? Presumably his head would have hit the pavement, why was there no blood?”
At one point in his article, Rogers notes:
“Swiss Policy Research conducted an analysis of the Wuhan Covid photos and videos and concluded that many were either staged or had nothing to do with Covid (in fact they were ‘drunk people, homeless people, road accidents, unspecified medical emergencies, and even training exercises’). So why were they released and marketed to the public as Covid-related images?”
December 11, 2020 — American College of Physicians: “The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) convened emergency meetings on December 11 and 12 to review and vote on recommendations for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
“ACIP voted 11-0 (with 3 members recusing themselves) to approve the following interim recommendation:
“The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is recommended for persons 16 years of age and older in the US population under the FDA's Emergency Use Authorization.”
December 11, 2020 — FDA: “FDA Takes Key Action in Fight Against COVID-19 By Issuing Emergency Use Authorization for First COVID-19 Vaccine”
“The tireless work to develop a new vaccine to prevent this novel, serious, and life-threatening disease in an expedited timeframe after its emergence is a true testament to scientific innovation and public-private collaboration worldwide.”
Also from the FDA:
“The vaccine was 95% effective in preventing COVID-19 disease among these clinical trial participants with eight COVID-19 cases in the vaccine group and 162 in the placebo group. Of these 170 COVID-19 cases, one in the vaccine group and three in the placebo group were classified as severe.”
But from The Highwire:
“When it comes to Covid vaccines, what does ‘95% effective’ really mean? Dr. Jim Meehan breaks down Relative Risk vs. Absolute Risk and how Big Pharma manipulates the data on the absolute effectiveness of these failed vaccines, which leads the media and public into a false sense of security.”
Then from the FDA:
“At this time, data are not available to make a determination about how long the vaccine will provide protection, nor is there evidence that the vaccine prevents transmission of SARS-CoV-2 from person to person.” [Emphasis added.]
December 12, 2020 — CBS News: “Trump administration buying another 100 million doses of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine”
“The federal government is doubling down on its purchases of a COVID-19 vaccine from Moderna. The Trump administration plans to buy an additional 100 million doses of the vaccine, the Department of Health and Human Services announced Friday.
“The purchase increases the U.S. government’s commitment to 200 million vaccine doses. Of those, 20 million doses are set to be delivered to states by the end of December, with the remainder expected to go out in the second quarter of 2021, Moderna said in a press release.”
December 12, 2020 — CBC: “Fauci confident vaccines can ‘crush’ COVID — if vaccine hesitancy doesn’t get in the way”
“The head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the U.S. told White Coat, Black Art host Dr. Brian Goldman he’s ‘very encouraged . . . by the extraordinary level of efficacy’ of the two vaccines.
“He noted that they’ve been found to be up to 95 per cent effective in preventing the COVID-19 illness caused by the coronavirus and almost 100 per cent effective in preventing the serious form of the disease that has claimed more than 1.5 million lives worldwide.”
“However, he also said both Canada and the U.S. must contend with a ‘considerable degree of vaccine hesitancy and skepticism.’
“He said it would be a shame for that hesitancy to stand in the way of the vaccine campaign.”
December 13, 2020 — Off-Guardian: “Why this campaign of terror?”
The subtitle of Gillian Dymond’s article reads:
“Never outside war time have populations been subjected to such outrageous assault and battery by government propaganda machines.”
A two-paragraph excerpt that supplies an answer to the “Why” question reads:
“Why this campaign of terror, you have to ask? Why, in the midst of a genuine pandemic, would anyone need to be reminded unceasingly that death is dogging their footsteps? That at any moment The Virus, wafted abroad by some super-spreader passed fleetingly in the street, might be insinuating itself into one’s body — or, worse, that we ourselves, infected but unaffected, might be silently contaminating a loved-one?
“The short answer is, they wouldn’t. In a genuine pandemic, this constant mental battering would be superfluous. If the Black Death were raging outside my door, government would know full well that they didn’t have to fork out millions to convince me to stay inside; more likely, they would have to pay me to leave the house.”
December 13, 2020 — Politico: “U.S. begins shipping Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine”
“Pfizer has begun shipping out its coronavirus vaccine in the U.S., with the doses set to arrive at the first tranche of vaccination sites within a day.
“Trucks carrying the first doses of the vaccine, authorized by the FDA late Friday night, started rolling out of Pfizer’s manufacturing plant in Kalamazoo, Mich., on Sunday morning.”
Newsweek refers us to a New York Times article that has further details:
“According to The New York Times, 2.9 million doses of the vaccine are being transported by truck and plane from Pfizer warehouses in Michigan and Wisconsin to distribution centers—most of them hospitals—in all 50 states.”
December 14, 2020 — ABC News: “US administers 1st doses of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine”
“Sandra Lindsay, a critical care nurse from Northwell Long Island Jewish Medical Center, was the first to be vaccinated in New York at 9:23 a.m. during a live streamed event with Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
“Lindsay, who lives in Queens, one of the hardest hit counties in the country, told the governor she wanted to instill trust in the vaccine.
“‘I believe in science. As a nurse, my practice is guided by science and so I trust that,’ she said during the livestream.”
The Gothamist picks up more of the Lindsay story:
“Her first-dose shot, which was broadcast live, comes nearly 10 months after the first confirmed coronavirus infection in the state kicked off a devastating pandemic that has killed more than 24,000 New Yorkers. She will require a second, final dose of the Pfizer vaccine in 21 days.”
December 14, 2020 — Michigan Medicine: “How to Make Sure People Get the Second Dose of the COVID-19 Vaccine”
“The availability of life-saving vaccines . . . will not necessarily result in people getting fully vaccinated.
“For the first vaccines that will reach the public, everyone who gets a first dose must have a second dose within a few weeks to get full protection against severe COVID-19.
“While Mark Fendrick, M.D., hails the rapid development of vaccines as a scientific breakthrough, he is anxious.
"So what’s his worry?
“‘There are several factors and behaviors that prevent many well-intentioned people from completing a two-step process, like that recommended for the COVID-19 vaccines,’ he says.”
“Fendrick has advocated that a smartphone-based vaccine adherence support program, built on research by his team and others, be added to optimize vaccine uptake.”
December 14, 2020 — San Francisco Chronicle: “The coronavirus vaccine comes with more side effects than a flu shot. Experts urge people to get it anyway”
“The first coronavirus vaccine authorized in the United States may cause more side effects than the flu vaccine, but the most common reactions — soreness at the injection site, fatigue and headache — are mild or moderate in most people and fade after a few days, according to analyses of clinical trial data.
“Infectious disease experts say most people can safely get the vaccine, but they should be prepared for some of these potential side effects.”
December 14, 2020 — CNBC: “Pfizer’s CEO hasn’t gotten his Covid vaccine yet, saying he doesn’t want to cut in line”
“Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla hasn’t received his company’s Covid-19 vaccine shot yet, saying Monday he and other executives will not ‘cut the line’ as U.S. officials kick off a massive effort to distribute the vaccine across the country.”
“While Bourla’s company developed the vaccine, he is not a frontline health-care worker himself. He said he’s also 59 and in relatively good health, so it’s not entirely appropriate for him to receive the vaccine before other people who need it more. If he was vaccinated on camera, he said it might help increase the public’s willingness to receive it, citing Pfizer’s internal research. But he emphasized that ‘none of the executives and board members will cut the line.’
“Bourla also urged Americans to ‘trust science’ and encouraged people to get vaccinated when appropriate, based on their age and occupation.”
December 14, 2020 — Inverse: Pfizer unblinds placebo control arm of trial group
“Pfizer-BioNTech removes the saline placebo control arm of their Phase 3 clinical trial, 3 days after FDA issues the EUA for their COVID-19 vaccine.
“The new Pfizer plan offers a path to receiving the vaccine, but doesn’t guarantee the other half: telling people which shot they actually got in the first place.
“The gold standard of medicine is the double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial — a study in which groups are assigned to a placebo or treatment group at random, and neither scientists nor participants know who is in which. Letting people know what group they’re in would ‘unblind’ the study, which would diminish its scientific power.”
According to an episode of Del Bigtree’s The Highwire:
“This unblinding of the control group, by offering the trial participants the option to take the vaccine, eliminates the possibility of conducting accurate long term safety studies.”
December 14, 2020 — Fierce Healthcare: “Microsoft rolls out COVID-19 vaccine management platform as nationwide distribution gets underway”
“The tech giant is working with business partners including Accenture, Avanade, EY, and Mazik Global to deploy vaccine management solutions that enable registration capabilities for patients and providers, phased scheduling for vaccinations, streamlined reporting, and management dashboarding with analytics and forecasting, Microsoft said.
“‘To achieve the goal of an efficient, equitable, and safe delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine, close collaboration across agencies and partners will be the key to success,’ said David Rhew, chief medical officer and vice president healthcare, worldwide commercial business at Microsoft in a blog post.“
“Rhew said the underlying technologies and approach for the vaccine management solutions have been tested and deployed with prior COVID-19 use cases, including contact tracing, COVID-19 testing, and return to work and return to school programs.”
December 14, 2020 — The Seattle Times: “The COVID-19 vaccine wasn’t tested in pregnancy, but experts say it’s still worth considering if you’re expecting”
“As health-care workers begin receiving Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine starting this week, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention committee has recommended that pregnant workers — a group typically excluded from vaccine trials — still be allowed to decide with their doctors whether to receive the vaccine.
“The majority of health-care workers are women, and Johns Hopkins University researchers noted in STAT News last week that an estimated 330,000 in this workforce ‘will be pregnant or breastfeeding as initial doses of vaccine are being distributed.’ Even more could become pregnant in the weeks between administration of the two doses of vaccine required for full protection from the virus.”
December 14, 2020 — Boston.com: Boston health care workers dancing on the sidewalk to celebrate the arrival of the first covid-19 vaccine
“Donning masks, face shields, and medical gowns, staff at BMC celebrated the delivery by dancing on the sidewalk to Lizzo’s ‘Good as Hell,’ the energetic and uplifting anthem that became a sleeper hit in the pre-pandemic days.
“A clip of the staff dancing was shared on Twitter by BMC president Kate Walsh from the center’s new TikTok account.”
December 14, 2020 — NPR: “Canada Administers Its 1st COVID-19 Vaccine Shots”
“Canada began administering doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, with elderly people and front-line workers among the first to receive shots.
“In Quebec, 89-year-old Gisèle Lévesque, a resident of the Saint-Antoine nursing home in Quebec City, became the first person in the province hit hardest by the pandemic to receive a vaccine, at around 11:30 a.m.”
December 14 2020 — Business Insider: “Pfizer and Moderna could earn $32 billion in revenues from their COVID-19 vaccines in 2021”
“Pfizer and Moderna could earn $32 billion in revenues from their COVID-19 vaccines in 2021 alone, according to Wall Street estimates.
“Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech are set to make roughly $19 billion, according to Morgan Stanley estimates, which project the companies could make almost $30 billion in vaccine revenues by the end of 2023.
“Pfizer expects to supply up to 1.3 billion doses of its shot in 2021, while Moderna expects to manufacture between 500 million and 1 billion doses.
“This could earn Moderna $13.2 billion in revenues, according to a Goldman Sachs note to investors.”
December 14, 2020 — CDC: The United Kingdom alleges a SARS-CoV-2 variant of concern has emerged
“The B.1.1.7 variant is estimated to have emerged in September 2020 and has quickly become the dominant circulating SARS-CoV-2 variant in England (1). B.1.1.7 has been detected in over 30 countries, including the United States.”
“In late fall 2020, multiple countries reported detecting SARS-CoV-2 variants that spread more efficiently. In addition to the B.1.1.7 variant, notable variants include the B.1.351 lineage first detected in South Africa and the recently identified B.1.1.28 subclade (renamed “P.1”) detected in four travelers from Brazil during routine screening at the Haneda (Tokyo) airport.”
The US CDC keeps the fear machine rolling:
“Variant B.1.1.7 has the potential to increase the U.S. pandemic trajectory in the coming months.”
As does The Guardian:
“If a new virus sounds scary, a new mutating virus sounds scarier still.
“We have the new variant, called B117, to thank for cancelled Christmases. London and much of south-east England are locked away in tier 4, quarantined from families in the rest of the UK.
“And beyond Christmas and the New Year, prospects for a return to normality do not look great.”
December 14, 2020 — Dossier Today: “Welcome to the COVID Testing Industrial Complex, which is fast becoming a $100 billion a year industry”
“The COVID-19 Testing Industrial Complex in the United States is completely out of control, and the American taxpayer has been drafted into churning out hundreds of millions of dollars per day to keep it afloat. This continually growing behemoth, which was spawned in 2020 because of the urgent insistence of select, powerful members of the U.S. ‘public health expert’ class, has no intention of exiting the stage quietly. Individuals and healthcare-related corporations are getting filthy rich off of this broken, corrupt industry, which largely produces junk tests, and has contributed to an out of control, ongoing ‘casedemic’ in the United States.”
December 14, 2020 — GreenMedInfo: “The Scam Has Been Confirmed: PCR Does Not Detect SARS-CoV-2”
“The genetic sequences used in PCRs to detect suspected SARS-CoV-2 and to diagnose cases of illness and death attributed to Covid-19 are present in dozens of sequences of the human genome itself and in those of about a hundred microbes. And that includes the initiators or primers, the most extensive fragments taken at random from their supposed ‘genome’ and even the so-called ‘target genes’ allegedly specific to the ‘new coronavirus.’ The test is worthless, and all ‘positive’ results obtained so far should be scientifically invalidated and communicated to those affected; and if they are deceased, to their relatives. Stephen Bustin, one of the world’s leading experts on PCR, in fact says that under certain conditions anyone can test positive!
“We have been warning you since March: you cannot have specific tests for a virus without knowing the components of the virus you are trying to detect. And the components cannot be known without having previously isolated/purified that virus. Since then we continue to accumulate evidence that no one has isolated SARS-CoV-2 and, more importantly, that it can never be isolated for the reasons we explained last month (read the report ‘Can you prove that there are pathogenic viruses?’ on our website: www.dsalud.com). And in the present report we are going to offer new data that show that RT-PCR does not detect the so-called SARS-CoV-2 as it is known, but fragments of human RNA and those of numerous microbes.”
December 15, 2020 — The Hill: “Trump administration launches $250 million campaign to convince Americans to get COVID-19 vaccine”
“Launched beneath the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the campaign will be heavily focused on media communications, with an estimated $115 million dollar budget allocated for the campaign, called Building Vaccine Confidence.
“Spanning three tiers, the campaign will focus on national engagement first, with an emphasis on the “Movable Middle” or people who are unsure about whether or not to get a COVID-19 vaccine but can be persuaded otherwise, according to market research.
“The first ads for the campaign are going to hit radios and digital media outlets on Jan. 25, 2021, with a staggered launch on channels from late January to March.”
December 15, 2020 — CBS News: “Moderna COVID-19 vaccine shows ‘no specific safety concerns,’ FDA says”
“The FDA was upbeat on the vaccine, saying there were ‘no specific safety concerns identified that would preclude issuance of an EUA (Emergency Use Authorization)’ and confirmed an overall efficacy of 94.1%.
“A panel of outside experts will offer their recommendation on the Moderna vaccine on Thursday, with a final FDA decision expected soon thereafter. If the FDA gives the green light, the first shipments could start rolling out across the country next week.”
“The FDA briefing document on Moderna’s vaccine says evidence from the clinical trial shows the vaccine is equally effective in people of different age groups, genders, and racial and ethnic groups. It also worked well in people with medical conditions that put them at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19.”

December 15, 2020 — AP News: “Idaho health board rejects regional mask, distancing order”
“A proposed public health order that would have included a mask mandate for Idaho’s most populated region was voted down on Tuesday as hundreds of protesters again gathered outside the Central District Health building in Boise.
“A previous attempt to vote on the order — which would have mandated masks in public and required businesses to practice social distancing or face a misdemeanor — was abruptly halted last week at the request of Boise officials and police amid fears that protests were becoming too ‘intense.’”
December 16, 2020 — Cleveland: “Gov. Mike DeWine urges Ohioans to wear a mask for Christmas and not eat with anyone outside their household”
“Gov. Mike DeWine is urging Ohioans to stay home for the holidays to stop the spread of coronavirus.
“If they do gather with family or friends, he hopes they wear masks and not eat or drink with anyone outside their households. And remaining outside is best.
“‘Assume that if you’re with somebody who doesn’t live with you—assume they have COVID and wear a mask,’ DeWine said. ‘And as far as eating. If everyone could just, again, not eat with anybody who doesn’t live with them. Don’t sit at the same table. If everybody would do those two things that, you know, we would start seeing not just a plateau. We’d start to see those cases come down.’”
December 16, 2020 — Daily Mail: Fauci reveals he won’t be spending time with his children for Christmas this year and encourages others to do the same
“The nation’s top infectious disease expert told The Washington Post that while the decision is ‘painful’ it’s also ‘just one of the things you're going to have to accept as we go through this unprecedented challenging time.’”
December 16, 2020 — The Guardian: WHO urges Europeans to wear masks, celebrate outside when seeing family for Christmas
“Europeans gathering for Christmas with their friends or families should try to celebrate outside or wear masks indoors in a well-ventilated space, according to an advisory issued by the World Health Organization.
“The advice, posted by the UN health body’s European region on its website, covers a variety of issues relating to winter recreation and holidays, including whether to take a skiing break and seasonal celebrations.”
“WHO suggested that, as communities across Europe weigh whether or not to host religious processions, holiday markets and church celebrations, ‘postponing or reducing’ public events should be considered. It also recommended that, ‘regardless of location,’ religious services should be ‘held outdoors whenever possible or be limited in size and duration.’”
December 16, 2020 — WHO update: A Confirmed Case: ‘A person with a positive Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT)’
“Confirmed case of SARS-CoV-2 infection:
“A person with a positive Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT)
“A person with a positive SARS-CoV-2 Antigen-RDT AND meeting either the probable case definition or suspect criteria A OR B
“An asymptomatic person with a positive SARS-CoV-2 Antigen-RDT who is a contact of a probable or confirmed case.”
NOTE: Simply a positive RT-PCR test—but no symptoms necessary—means that, under this new definition, someone who’s healthy is “statistically ill.”
December 16, 2020 — Twitter to remove tweets labelled as ‘misinformation’ about coronavirus vaccines
The planned takedowns, which will begin next week, were announced as misinformation about the vaccines, which are just starting to be distributed in the United States.
Tweets that claim the vaccines intentionally cause harm, or conspiracies about the dangers of vaccines, will be removed, according to Twitter’s new policy. Facebook and YouTube have already said they would remove false claims about the vaccines, notes The New York Times, before adding:
“In the context of a global pandemic, vaccine misinformation presents a significant and growing public health challenge, Twitter said in a blog post.”
December 17, 2020 — STAT News: “FDA advisory panel endorses Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine, clearing way for authorization”
The Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC) meets today to discuss the EUA of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine “for the prevention of COVID-19 in individuals 18 years and older.”
“The authorization, expected on Friday, will mark the second Covid-19 vaccine cleared by the agency — and amount to one more step toward curbing a pandemic that has infected an estimated 17 million people and killed more than 300,000 in the United States.
“Both Moderna’s vaccine and the one developed by Pfizer and its partner BioNTech, which was granted an EUA last week, use messenger RNA to instruct the body’s cells to produce copies of the spike protein found on the exterior of the SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19.”
December 18, 2020 — Totality of Evidence: “FDA grants EUA for Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine”
“The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announces they have ‘issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for the second vaccine for the prevention of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The emergency use authorization allows the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine to be distributed in the U.S. for use in individuals 18 years of age and older.’”
December 18, 2020 — CDC: The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) issues “Interim Recommendation for Use of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine” in the United States.
“Before vaccination, the EUA Fact Sheet should be provided to recipients and caregivers. Providers should counsel Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine recipients about expected systemic and local reactogenicity.
“Additional clinical considerations, including details of administration and use in special populations (e.g., persons who are pregnant or immunocompromised or who have severe allergies) are available.
“Additional studies of safety and effectiveness are planned after authorization and will be important to inform future ACIP recommendations as well as increase public confidence in the COVID-19 vaccination program. [Emphasis added.]
“The interim recommendation and clinical considerations are based on use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine under an EUA and might change as more evidence becomes available.”
December 18, 2020 — NIH: “Statement from NIH and BARDA on the FDA Emergency Use Authorization of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine”
“Throughout each stage of clinical testing, the Moderna vaccine proved to be safe and highly effective at preventing symptomatic COVID-19. In a study of more than 30,000 people, it demonstrated 94% efficacy, and subsequent analyses have revealed that the vaccine induces a durable immune response.”
“Today stands as a reminder of what can be accomplished when people come together to reach a common goal. We are working with a constant sense of urgency to bring vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics to bear to end the crisis. As partners in Operation Warp Speed, NIAID and BARDA scientists collaborated with Moderna, adding BARDA’s expertise in late-stage clinical trials, scale-up manufacturing and regulatory requirements. By collaborating, we were able to complete these steps in parallel and accelerate the development of a safe and effective vaccine.”
— BARDA Director Gary Disbrow, Ph.D.
December 18, 2020 — NIH’s PubMed publishes “Vaccination Is the Only Acceptable Path to Herd Immunity”
An excerpt from the Abstract:
“Population-level herd immunity is critical for long-term control of SARS-CoV-2. However, proposals to reach the herd immunity threshold through naturally acquired infection, rather than vaccination, have complicated public health efforts and popularized policies that will lead to widespread transmission and mortality. Vaccination is the only viable path to herd immunity.”
December 18, 2020 — Amnesty International publishes a report on Italy’s violations of the human rights of older residents of care homes during the COVID-19 pandemic
“The report, titled “‘Abandoned’: highlighting human rights violations in care homes in Italy during the COVID-19 pandemic,” looks at the impact of the Covid pandemic on the human rights of older people in care homes in the Italian regions of Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto.
“‘Our investigation shows that at a time when inspections should have been more frequent and more in-depth — given the lack of oversight by family members or others during the closure of care homes to the outside world — often inspections carried out by local health authorities were only administrative formalities.’
“Amnesty International also received widespread complaints from care home staff and older people’s relatives concerning the serious obstacles or outright refusal to hospitalize care home residents with Covid-19 or with flu-like symptoms. In particular, in Lombardy, the regional authorities adopted a specific policy advising that older residents aged over 75 with frailty and with COVID-19 symptoms should be cared for within care homes, de facto limiting their access to hospital. In the absence of individualized clinical assessments aimed at identifying the best individual solution for specific patients, this resulted in a lack of protection of the rights to life, to health and to non-discrimination.
“The health emergency also exacerbated systemic failures that already afflicted the care home sector. Among these, workforce shortages, worsened by the high number of health workers in sick leave and by additional recruitment by hospitals, led to a drop in the quality of assistance and care for residents and resulted in care home workers enduring horrific working conditions, subjecting them to severe physical and psychological stress.”
December 19, 2020 — CDC: At the ACIP meeting, the deputy director of the CDC’s division of viral disease, Dr. Thomas Clark, presented slides which showed that more than two in 100 vaccinated people were experiencing an adverse reaction.
“Nationally by Friday night, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it had identified six cases of anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction, according to presentation materials from federal health officials. Those cases included one person who had a history of anaphylactic reaction after a rabies vaccine, according to the CDC, which said that more than 270,000 vaccinations had been administered by Saturday morning.”
Meanwhile, in an exclusive on The Highwire:
“Aaron Siri Breaks Down CDC's V-safe Data, showing that of 112,807 registrants with a recorded 1st dose, 3,150 of these experienced a ‘Health Impact Event’ rendering them ‘unable to perform normal daily activities, unable to work, required care from doctor or health care professional.’ Overall 2.79% of vaccinated actively surveilled were adversely affected after the first dose.”
December 19, 2020 — Haaretz: Israel begins its COVID-19 vaccine rollout the day after Hanukkah “after paying a premium for supplies of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.”
According to The Times of Israel, the first shot began with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
One Pfizer executive called Israel ‘a sort of laboratory’ for Pfizer COVID vaccines.
“‘Early in the pandemic we established a relationship with the Israeli Ministry of Health where they used exclusively the Pfizer vaccine and then monitored it very closely,’ [Pfizer’s Philip] Dormitzer told the gathering, ‘so we had a sort of laboratory where we could see the effect.’
“Israel's Health Ministry is planning to issue a card or a passport to those who received the coronavirus vaccine, which would exempt those who received the two vaccines from self-isolation after travelling or following exposure to a coronavirus patient.”
December 19, 2020 —CNN: “Dr. Fauci explains when kids will get vaccinated”

“Dr. Fauci tells Elmo and his friends that he traveled to the North Pole and vaccinated Santa Claus himself so that he can safely deliver presents this Christmas.”
December 19, 2020 — The Economist: “Only the world wars have rivalled covid-19 for news coverage”
The article’s subtitle reveals an interesting tidbit:
“In late March, 80% of our articles mentioned ‘covid’ or ‘coronavirus.’
“Given how much the world has changed in 2020, it is hard to fathom that the year was just one leap-day longer than 2019. On January 16th The Economist published its first article about a novel coronavirus in Wuhan, China, which at that point had been confirmed only as the cause of 42 infections and one death. Two weeks later, covid-19 made its debut on our cover. It returned there on February 27th, and held the slot for ten consecutive issues. The topic has claimed seven more covers since then.”
December 19, 2020 — Off-Guardian: “How Belarus Exposes the Lockdown Lie”
“Overall, the Belarussian approach has been the least authoritarian in Europe. Belarussian football went ahead as normal and fans were allowed to continue attending games. Theatres, cafes and other social events continued and there was no shutdown of the economy.”
“According to the official narrative, Belarus should have been a zone of death, destruction and disaster. Neil Ferguson’s modelling — one of the key pieces of propaganda used to put Britain in lockdown — predicted that left unchecked Covid 19 would kill between 54,090 and 71,616 Belarussians.
“So what are the facts?
“The population of Belarus is around 9.5 million. As of December 12, 2020, of this population a total of 1,263 deaths are recorded as being from Covid 19.”
“It goes without saying that 1,263 deaths out of a population of 9.5m is minuscule and hardly indicative of a deadly pandemic sweeping the country.”
December 20, 2020 — NBC News: “First shipments of Moderna vaccine roll out”
“Distribution for Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine began on Sunday, just two days after the Food and Drug Administration authorized it for emergency use.”
“McKesson, a healthcare supply chain management company, is shipping the vaccine around the country from its distribution centers in Olive Branch, Mississippi, and outside of Louisville, Kentucky. It began filling its first orders on Sunday, including the vaccine and ancillary supply kits needed to administer the shot. The company said their initial deliveries, at the U.S. government's direction, should arrive by Monday.”

December 21, 2020 — NPR: “Oregon Hospitals Didn’t Have Shortages. So Why Were Disabled People Denied Care?”
“At the start of the coronavirus pandemic, a small group of disability rights advocates found itself in a race against time to save the life of a woman with an intellectual disability.
“The woman was taken to the hospital with COVID-19. But the hospital, in a small Oregon town, denied the ventilator she needed. Instead, a doctor, citing her ‘low quality of life,’ wanted her to sign a legal form to allow the hospital to deny her care.
“Out of that quiet fight in early spring, the advocates — staff at a disability rights legal group, a state lawmaker and a few others — discovered something disturbing: There were many cases in Oregon of health care being rationed to people with disabilities.
“At the same moment, across the United States, disability groups and even a civil rights office of the U.S. government were raising a similar warning: behind closed doors, people with disabilities, as well as elderly people, were in danger of being denied health care.”
“In the hospital, a medical provider wrote do-not-resuscitate (DNR) and do-not-intubate orders for the woman.”
“In addition, the hospital staff sent word to the woman’s group home: Fill out DNRs in advance for your other residents, in case one of them comes to the hospital.” [All emphases added.]
December 21, 2020 — ProPublica: “Rio Grande Hospital Workers Turned Down the Vaccine”
“So many workers at a hospital in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley declined the new COVID-19 vaccine that the facility offered doses to other medical workers in the region. Many showed up, but so did a state lawmaker, a police officer and a sheriff’s deputy who weren’t on the state’s priority list for vaccination.”
December 21, 2020 — European Medicines Agency: “EMA recommends first COVID-19 vaccine for authorisation in the EU”
“EMA has recommended granting a conditional marketing authorisation for the vaccine Comirnaty, developed by BioNTech and Pfizer, to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in people from 16 years of age. EMA’s scientific opinion paves the way for the first marketing authorisation of a COVID-19 vaccine in the EU by the European Commission, with all the safeguards, controls and obligations this entails.
“EMA’s human medicines committee (CHMP) has completed its rigorous evaluation of Comirnaty, concluding by consensus that sufficiently robust data on the quality, safety and efficacy of the vaccine are now available to recommend a formal conditional marketing authorisation.”
The New York Times pitches in with this headline: “E.U. Approves Pfizer Vaccine, Setting Stage for High-Stakes Rollout” and then writes:
“In a landmark collective undertaking, the bloc is poised to start distributing shots to all 27 member nations and their 410 million citizens.
“Leaked internal emails from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and meeting reports between the agency and Pfizer will reveal major concerns with Pfizer C-19 vaccine batch integrity and the race to authorize.”
December 21, 2020 — AP News: Congress passes $900 billion covid relief bill
“Congress passed a $900 billion pandemic relief package that would finally deliver long-sought cash to businesses and individuals and resources to vaccinate a nation confronting a frightening surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths.
“Lawmakers tacked on a $1.4 trillion catchall spending bill and thousands of pages of other end-of-session business in a massive bundle of bipartisan legislation as Capitol Hill prepared to close the books on the year. December 21, 2020 — Independent: ‘Mad Modeller’ Neil Ferguson claims “mutant coronavirus strain could more easily infect children”
“Professor Neil Ferguson, from Imperial College London, said on Monday that data on infections across the southeast showed the new variant had a statistically significant higher rate of infection among children than other strains.
“He said: ‘There is a hint that it has a higher propensity to infect children. That may perhaps explain some of the differences but we haven’t established any sort of causality on that but we can see that in the data.’”
December 22, 2020 — KFF: “Both Remote and On-Site Workers Grapple with Serious Mental Health Consequences of COVID-19”
“While millions have recently lost their jobs or income and face new stresses, many who have been working during the pandemic also face new pressures.
“Almost overnight, the COVID-19 pandemic presented many workers with a whole host of concurrent risk factors for poor mental health and substance use problems, including generally high levels of uncertainty and fear, an overload of news and information, changes to workplace processes and demands, changes in household dynamics, financial and job security concerns, potential worsening of existing health conditions, and difficulties linked to caregiving.
“People working during the pandemic face unique threats to mental health and well-being depending on which sector they work in and their potential exposure to the coronavirus.
“Generally speaking, surveys conducted during the pandemic have found that many workers have been experiencing burnout (which results from chronic workplace stress and can impact an individual’s motivation and productivity) and adverse mental health outcomes.”
December 22, 2020 — The New York Times: “2 Alaska Health Workers Got Emergency Treatment After Receiving Pfizer’s Vaccine”
“One of the workers, who did not have a history of allergies, remained in the hospital on Wednesday night. Some reactions to the vaccine were also reported last week in Britain.”
“Two health care workers at the same hospital in Alaska developed concerning reactions just minutes after receiving Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine this week, including one staff member who was to remain hospitalized until Thursday.
“Health officials said that the cases would not disrupt their vaccine rollout plans and that they were sharing the information for the sake of transparency.”
December 22, 2020 — WEF Forum: “COVID-19 measures have fueled a global ‘learning poverty’ crisis”
And not only that but, according to the World Bank:
“Temporary school closures in more than 180 countries have, at the peak of the pandemic, kept nearly 1.6 billion students out of school; for about half of those students, school closures are exceeding seven months. Although most countries have made heroic efforts to put remote and remedial learning strategies in place, learning losses are likely to happen. A recent survey of education officials on government responses to COVID-19 by UNICEF, UNESCO, and the World Bank shows that while countries and regions have responded in various ways, only half of the initiatives are monitoring usage of remote learning. Moreover, where usage is being monitored, the remote learning is being used by less than half of the student population, and most of those cases are online platforms in high- and middle-income countries.”
December 22, 2020 — StateScoop: “New software helps government fight COVID-19 vaccine misinformation”
“The ‘COVID-19 vaccine toolkit’ from software manufacturer Granicus launched Monday, providing state and local agencies with a real-time analytics platform to measure whether residents are clicking on or engaging with digital campaigns to encourage people to take the vaccine. Users — thousands of state and local agencies across the U.S., according to Granicus CEO Mark Hynes — can also access a database of content that other communities are distributing to their residents, including different email or texting templates, as well as data about which subject lines and text-introductions generate the most clicks."

“‘I feel extreme confidence in the safety and the efficacy of this vaccine and I want to encourage everyone who has the opportunity to get vaccinated so that we can have a veil of protection over this country, that would end this pandemic,’ he said as he waited for his shot.”
December 22, 2020 — Jeremy R. Hammond publishes “Remember Overwhelmed Hospitals Across the US Three Years Ago?”
“A headline from the New York Times on December 9 declared “‘There’s No Place for Them to Go’: I.C.U. Beds Near Capacity Across U.S.”
“Entrepreneur Yinon Weiss investigated that headline’s claim by downloading national data from the US Department of Health and Human Services on hospital intensive care unit (ICU) capacity and graphing the data. Sharing the results on Twitter, he concluded that the headline is ‘another example of unnecessary fear mongering.’
Indeed, nearly three years ago, during the 2017–2018 flu season, there were many reports in the media about hospitals around the US being overwhelmed with flu patients. Nobody was calling for the economy to be shut down or for individual liberty to be curtailed as a means of solving the problem.”
December 23, 2020 — NBC4 Washington: “DC Mayor Proclaims Christmas Eve ‘Dr. Anthony S. Fauci Day’”
“Dr. Anthony Fauci got an early birthday present when D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser proclaimed Thursday, December 24, 2020, ‘Dr. Anthony S. Fauci Day’ in the District.

December 23, 2020 — CNBC: “The U.S. has vaccinated just 1 million people out of a goal of 20 million for December”
“Just over 1 million people in the U.S. have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine as of Wednesday morning, a far cry from the federal government’s goal of inoculating 20 million Americans by the end of the year.
“Now that two Covid-19 vaccines have been approved for emergency use, the biggest hurdle to ending the pandemic in the U.S. is getting the doses to the roughly 331 million Americans across the country. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 1,008,025 shots had been administered as of Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET.
“That’s roughly 19 million doses shy of earlier projections for December and leaves public officials a little more than a week — about 8 days — to try to close that gap.”
December 23, 2020 — Bloomberg: “The World’s Most Loathed Industry Gave Us a Vaccine in Record Time”
“At least one thing went right in 2020: Pharmaceutical companies came through. Thank you, science.
“At the end of 2019, before the coronavirus pandemic started, the two best-known faces of the pharmaceutical business were the imprisoned Martin Shkreli and the lawsuit-laden opioid makers at Purdue Pharma LP.
“In a Gallup Poll of the public’s view of various business sectors, pharma was ranked at the bottom, behind the oil industry, advertising and public relations, and lawyers.
“Who’d have guessed that a year later pharma would be getting credit for saving the world?
“The Covid-19 vaccines developed by the drug industry, in partnership with governments, will almost certainly prevent hundreds of thousands of American deaths and millions more around the world. They will revive trillions of dollars in economic activity, let grandparents see grandchildren, and finally bring an end to a year that has—sing it together one last time as the ball drops over an empty Times Square—really sucked.”

In a six-part series closing out this tumultuous year, UN News looks at the impact on people in every part of the world and some of the solutions that the United Nations has proposed to deal with the fall-out of the pandemic.”
“As COVID-19 took hold, countries and cities across the world entered lockdown with the closure of schools, cultural and sports venues and all non-essential businesses.”
“As the world enters 2021, the pandemic is still raging and, after an apparent mid-year lull in many countries, more infections and more deaths are being reported. With more vaccines being rolled out, the international community is being urged to work together to stop the spread and follow science-based guidelines."
NOTE: It wasn’t politicians, public health officials, and bureaucrats who shut down the world. No, it was “the virus.” Always “the virus.”
December 24, 2020 — Reuters: “Americans celebrate Christmas Eve under spiraling COVID pandemic”
“Americans marked a grim Christmas Eve on Thursday as coronavirus infections exploded nationwide, political leaders warned them not to travel or gather in large groups and a highly contagious variant of the virus spread further in Europe.
“More than one million people have received the first of two vaccine doses since Dec. 14, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But the vaccinations have so far had little effect on the latest surge in cases spiraling nationwide.”
“State and local political leaders nationwide have urged Americans not to travel for the holidays, saying that Thanksgiving celebrations had further spread the virus.
“Many Americans, weary after more than nine months of lockdowns, have defied those warnings. More passengers flew on commercial flights on Wednesday than any other day of the pandemic, with 1,191,123 passengers passing through airport checkpoints, according to data from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration.”

“‘It’s Christmas,’ the Daily Nation newspaper declared in Kenya. . . .”
“The elderly, meanwhile, struggled with the virus travel restrictions that kept them from visiting family or friends for the holidays.
“‘The solitude gets to me these days. I often feel depressed,’ said Alvaro Puig, an 81-year-old in Spain who spent Christmas Eve eating dinner alone with his pet rabbit.”
December 25, 2020 — AP News: “Virus magnifies the solitude for the elderly at Christmas”
“Rosa Otero prepares her dinner for another nightly meal in solitude.
“This pandemic Christmas Eve has turned what should be a preciously scarce moment to spend time with her family into yet another daily installment of her life as a widow who lives alone.
“Otero, 83, normally travels across Spain from her small, tidy apartment in Barcelona to northwest Galicia, to spend the winter holidays with her family.
“But the restrictions on travel and urgings from health authorities that infections are on the rise have convinced Otero’s family to cancel their holiday plans for this year.
“‘I don’t feel like celebrating anything,’ Otero said as she sat down to eat a plate of salmon with potatoes. ‘I don’t like Christmas, because it brings me bad memories. My husband died in January seven years ago. Since then I feel very alone.’”

December 26, 2020 — On Unlimited Hangout, Jeremy Loffredo and Whitney Webb publish “Developers of Oxford-AstraZeneca Vaccine Tied to UK Eugenics Movement”
“The developers of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine have previously undisclosed ties to the re-named British Eugenics Society as well as other Eugenics-linked institutions like the Wellcome Trust.”
“Arguably most troubling of all is the direct link of the vaccine’s lead developers to the Wellcome Trust and, in the case of Adrian Hill, the Galton Institute, two groups with longstanding ties to the UK eugenics movement. The latter organization, named for the ‘father of eugenics’ Francis Galton, is the renamed UK Eugenics Society, a group notorious for over a century for its promotion of racist pseudoscience and efforts to ‘improve racial stock’ by reducing the population of those deemed inferior.
“The ties of Adrian Hill to the Galton Institute should raise obvious concerns given the push to make the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine he developed with Gilbert the vaccine of choice for the developing world, particularly countries in Latin America, South and Southeast Asia, and Africa, the very areas where the Galton Institute’s past members have called for reducing population growth.”
December 26, 2020 — CDC publishes new Covid-19 vaccination guidance for people with underlying medical conditions
“People with autoimmune conditions may receive an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. However, they should be aware that no data are currently available on the safety of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines for them.
“Cases of Bell’s palsy were reported in participants in the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials. However, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not consider these to be above the rate expected in the general population.
NOTE: The CDC also says that people who get vaccinated should continue to practice Covid-19 prevention measures until it is known whether the vaccine prevents the spread of the virus.

The Hill adds: “Trump signs $2.3 trillion relief, spending package”
“Trump signed off on the $2.3 trillion package from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla., days after he expressed displeasure with the spending outlined in the omnibus and complained that the coronavirus relief measure should include direct payments of $2,000 per person, up from $600.
“‘I will sign the Omnibus and Covid package with a strong message that makes clear to Congress that wasteful items need to be removed,’ Trump said in a statement upon signing the legislation. ‘I will send back to Congress a redlined version, item by item, accompanied by the formal rescission request to Congress insisting that those funds be removed from the bill.’”

December 27, 2020 — The New York Times claims that “1 of every 17 people in the U.S. has been infected, and 1 in 1,000 has died. Yet the worst may lie ahead”
“With bubble-enclosed Santas and Zoom-enhanced family gatherings, much of the United States played it safe over Christmas while the coronavirus rampaged across the country.
“But a significant number of Americans traveled, and uncounted gatherings took place, as they will over the New Year holiday.
“And that, according to the nation’s top infectious disease expert, Anthony S. Fauci, could mean new spikes in cases, on top of the existing surge.”

December 28, 2020 — At a WHO coronavirus media briefing, WHO chief scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan notes:
“‘. . . we continue to wait for more results from the vaccine trials, . . . to really understand if these vaccines, apart from preventing symptomatic disease and severe disease and deaths, whether they’re also going to reduce infections, or prevent people from getting infected with the virus, prevent them from passing it on or transmitting it to other people. At the moment, I don’t believe we have the evidence on any of the vaccines to be confident that it’s going to prevent people from actually getting the infection and therefore being able to pass it on.’” [Emphasis added.]
December 28, 2020 — FDA issues updated guidance confirming providers can pull an extra dose or two out of Pfizer vaccine vials
“The FDA posted an updated letter of authorization, health care provider fact sheet and frequently asked questions regarding the number of Pfizer-BioNTech doses in a vial. These updates are consistent with previous FDA advice that it would be acceptable to use every full dose obtainable (the sixth, or possibly even a seventh) from each vial, pending resolution of the issue. However, since the vaccine does not contain preservative, it is critical to note that any further remaining product that does not constitute a full dose should not be pooled from multiple vials to create one.”
“The agency also warned against mixing the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, specifying that an initial Pfizer shot should be followed up with another Pfizer shot three weeks later, and the same for the Moderna vaccine.”
December 28, 2020 — CNN medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner explains how hospitals can ration care as Covid-19 hospitalizations hit record high
“‘I’ve had conversations with families hundreds or even thousands of times when a loved one gets acutely ill, and we try and decide what the family would want,’ [Dr. Jonathan] Reiner, a professor of medicine at George Washington University, told CNN’s Bianna Golodryga.
“‘When you run out of capacity, physicians and bioethicists in these hospitals will need to decide which patients are salvageable — potentially salvageable — and which patients aren’t,’ he explained. ‘So, the final decision in many instances may not be up to the family.’” [Emphasis added.]
ABC News weighs in: Many hospitals across California are thinking about rationing care or are already doing so
“Kaiser Permanente has already started to postpone non-urgent surgeries in Northern California due to the surge, which could cause serious issues for those patients who have underlying health conditions.”

Later, according to several X posts by The Rustler 83:
[1] Scotland Public Health Director Nick Phin would testify to the UK Covid Inquiry that the Scottish Government over-estimated Hospitalisations and Deaths with ‘COVID’ [2] ICU capacity was shown to be extremely low during the peak of the ‘COVID-Pandemic.’“Scotland ICU capacity during peak of ‘COVID-Pandemic’
536 ICU beds
143 beds were EMPTY
191 beds were CLOSED
202 beds were FULL
62 beds with a COVID “positive” patient
Just 11.6% of our ICU beds taken up by a ‘COVID’ patient”
[3] Two years of lockdowns and restrictions were based on bogus figures:“I called out this 28-day scam over three years ago!”
“Malfeasance carries a seven-year prison sentence”
NOTE: Dr. Phin noted that “72% of ‘Covid’ hospitalizations were incidental.” They “tested positive, but were being treated for something else.” And he observed that “only 28% were being treated for influenza-like ‘Covid’ symptoms.”
December 29, 2020 — ABC News: A nurse who got vaccinated tests positive for COVID
“The story of an emergency room nurse who tested positive for COVID-19 after getting the first dose of the vaccine is a reminder that hand washing, social distancing and masks are still going to be crucial in 2021.
“Matthew W., a 45-year-old nurse in San Diego, received the Pfizer vaccine Dec. 18 and told ABC News San Diego affiliate KGTV that the only vaccine side effect he experienced was arm soreness.
“Six days later, after working a shift in the COVID-19 unit, Matthew had chills, muscle pain and fatigue. A drive-up hospital test confirmed he was positive for COVID-19.”
December 29, 2020 — NBC News: “The lost year: How Covid-19 left many Americans ‘stuck in time’”
“In a way, Covid-19 behaved like a thief, stealing precious time that may be lost forever.”
“In recent weeks, NBC News spoke to people across the United States for whom 2020 might be described as a lost year. The pandemic kept them from growing their families, starting careers, visiting elderly loved ones both here and abroad. It deferred their dreams — and potentially reshaped the course of their lives.”
NOTE: How many kids saw their dreams deferred or completely demolished?
December 30, 2020 — CBS News: “Louisiana congressman-elect Luke Letlow dies at 41 allegedly of COVID-19 complications”
“Just two weeks after the win, Letlow announced he had tested positive for COVID-19. Within days, the congressman-elect was hospitalized. On December 23, a representative for Letlow said he was in ‘stable condition’ in an intensive care unit and was receiving Remdesivir and steroids.” [Emphasis added.]
“Over the past few months, Letlow has posted numerous photos of himself and dozens of others at campaign and community events without masks and without social distancing. He had also pushed for states to ‘reopen the economy’ amid the pandemic.”
Fox News reported on Letlow’s heart condition:
“Letlow, 41, experienced the heart attack last week following a medical procedure at LSU Health Shreveport to remove a blood clot caused by the virus.” [Emphasis added.]
“‘His immediate death due to a heart attack is likely related to thromboembolic phenomena caused by COVID-19,’ Dr. G. E. Ghali, chancellor of Shreveport, told Fox News in a statement.”
NOTE: Medical errors are America’s third-leading cause of death.
December 30, 2020 — The Washington Post: “What you need to know about vaccine passports”
“The World Economic Forum and the Commons Project Foundation, a Swiss nonprofit group, are testing a digital immunity passport called CommonPass. It’s a system that would enable travelers to access lab results and vaccination records and consent to have that information used to validate their covid-19 status without revealing other personal health information. CommonPass would be accessible from your phone.
“Late in 2020, IDEMIA, an online identity-management company, unveiled a broader technology solution called Augmented Borders that would allow you to scan the chip in your passport and use your mobile phone as a proxy passport. Such a system could also contain your immunization records, but adoption may be months away.”
NOTE: Are “vaccine passports” a Trojan Horse for digital ID? Is the pump being primed for increased surveillance and social control via a health dictatorship?
December 30, 2020 — WHO: “COVID-19: One year later — WHO Director-General’s new year message” by Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
“As people around the world celebrated New Year’s Eve 12 months ago, a new global threat emerged.
“Since that moment, the COVID-19 pandemic has taken so many lives and caused massive disruption to families, societies and economies all over the world.
“But it also triggered the fastest and most wide-reaching response to a global health emergency in human history.”
. . .
“Vaccines offer great hope to turn the tide of the pandemic.
“But to protect the world, we must ensure that all people at risk everywhere — not just in countries who can afford vaccines — are immunized.”
. . .
“First and foremost, 2020 has shown that governments must increase investment in public health, from funding access to COVID vaccines for all people, to making our systems better prepared to prevent and respond to the next, inevitable, pandemic.”
December 31, 2020 — “WHO issues its first emergency use validation for a COVID-19 vaccine and emphasizes need for equitable global access”
“The World Health Organization (WHO) today listed the Comirnaty COVID-19 mRNA vaccine for emergency use, making the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine the first to receive emergency validation from WHO since the outbreak began a year ago.
“The WHO’s Emergency Use Listing (EUL) opens the door for countries to expedite their own regulatory approval processes to import and administer the vaccine. It also enables UNICEF and the Pan-American Health Organization to procure the vaccine for distribution to countries in need.”
December 31, 2020 — NBC News: “Many front-line workers refuse Covid vaccines as distribution rollout struggles”
“About 50 percent of workers in California’s Riverside County have refused to take the vaccine, along with 60 percent of nursing home staff in Ohio.”
“A large percentage of front-line workers in hospitals and nursing homes have refused to take the Covid-19 vaccine, a hurdle for public health officials as the country struggles to roll out inoculations around the country.”
More from a different NBC News article:
“Vaccine development and distribution has been the target of persistent conspiracy theories and disinformation on social media, although it's unclear how much impact this anti-vaccination movement has had on overall public trust in the process.”
Meanwhile, Pew Research finds:
“About 2 in 10 Americans are certain they will not change their mind about refusing the vaccine, according to data from the Pew Research Center. And 62 percent said they would be uncomfortable being among the first to receive the vaccine.
“Anecdotally, an estimated 60 percent of Ohio nursing home employees have refused the vaccine already, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said during a news briefing Wednesday. It's a stark contrast to the number of nursing home residents who have taken the vaccine when offered, which DeWine guessed to be about 85 percent.”
December 31, 2020 — AA.com: “US: Fauci says COVID vaccine rollout ‘disappointing’”
“Authorities only about one-tenth of way they hoped to be at year’s end.”
“Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, said Thursday the US effort to rollout COVID-19 vaccines to Americans has so far been lackluster.
“About 12.4 million doses of the vaccines have been distributed to states while just 2.8 million people have received the first of two doses of the vaccine, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That is far short of the 20 million President Donald Trump’s team had hoped would have been administered by year’s end.
“‘Obviously, it didn’t happen, and that’s disappointing,’ Fauci, who sits on Trump’s coronavirus task force, said during an interview on the Today television program.”
December 31, 2020 — Daily Caller: “Dr. Paul Offit Calls For ‘Mass Vaccination Events’ To Speed Up Distribution”
“Dr. Paul Offit, a vaccinologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, called for ‘mass vaccination events’ Thursday to speed up distribution of the coronavirus vaccine.
“While Operation Warp Speed has helped COVID-19 vaccines from both Pfizer and Moderna gain FDA approval in record time with more on the way, rollout so far has been lower than expectations."
On CNN’s New Day program, Offit says:
“‘Do we have it in us to do these kind of mass vaccination campaign events? Of course we do. We just need to get it together to do that. And we do need money to do that. I mean, the federal government does need to step up their response to vaccination in the same way that they stepped up the response to making the vaccine,’ said Offit, director of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.”
NOTE: At this time in 2020 (and through September 2025), Offit is a member of the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC). He is well-known as the co-inventor of a rotavirus vaccine.
December 31, 2020 — Australian Bureau of Statistics: Australia all-cause mortality for 2020
Key statistics relating to 2020 deaths in Australia include:
141,116 doctor-certified deaths occurred between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2020 (compared to 169,301 deaths registered in 2019) and were registered by 28 February 2021. This equates to an average of 385.6 deaths per day, in line with the baseline average of 385.8.
The seasonality of deaths in 2020 was less pronounced, with numbers of deaths being higher than historical averages in summer and lower in winter. There were also substantial differences in numbers of deaths for some causes when compared to historical averages.
Deaths due to respiratory disease were 16.2% lower than historical averages. Decreases were recorded in both chronic and acute respiratory diseases.
Influenza and pneumonia deaths were 36.0% lower than the historical average, with this result heavily influenced by a particularly mild flu season.
Deaths due to cancer, dementia and diabetes were above historical averages by 4.0%, 7.3% and 9.1%, respectively. Numbers of dementia deaths did not reach the usual peak during the winter months but higher counts of deaths between January and April contributed to the increase overall for 2020. Diabetes deaths were above average for most of the year and particularly high in April with 33.7% more deaths than average. [All emphases added.]
According to Australia’s The Spectator: “In 2020, 909 (0.64%) of the deaths were "covid related.”
NOTE: As of October 2020, the average age of death from COVID-19 in Australia was approximately 85 and the median age at death approximately 86. Approximately 66% (700 out of 1,053) of “COVID-19 deaths” in Australia (as of 7 September 7, 2021) occurred in aged care.
December 31, 2020 — Chicago Sun-Times: “After 3 years of progress, Chicago’s murder tally skyrockets in 2020”
“After three consecutive years of declining violence, Chicago’s murder tally soared in 2020 as city leaders — including a new Chicago police superintendent — were forced to confront widespread civil unrest and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As of Dec. 31, the city recorded 774 murders in 2020, an increase of more than 50% from the 506 murders in 2019, according to a database maintained by the Chicago Sun-Times. The uptick was felt across the city, as 20 of the CPD’s 22 police districts recorded more murders in 2020 than the year before. The number of overall shooting incidents skyrocketed, too, rising from 2,120 in 2019 to 3,237 as of Dec. 27, 2020.”
“Violent crime rose in major cities all across the country, but Chicago saw the most murders of any American municipality, nearly matching the combined totals of New York City and Los Angeles, according to records from all three police departments.”
December 31, 2020 —The U.S. Sun: Times Square will not be open to the public on New Year’s Eve for the historic Times Square ball drop
“This is the first New Year’s Eve that will not allow people to congregate in the area since 1904.”
“Despite the tough year it has been, the Times Square ball drop is not cancelled.
“However, New York authorities will close off the area to follow coronavirus social distancing guidelines and prevent people from watching the ball.”
If we skip past December 2020 by a few months, we read in an X tweet by David Bell that IMF Chief @KGeorgieva makes “a strange speech” at the April 2021 IMF meeting, in which she says: "Vaccine policy is economic policy."
Indeed, starting in early December, it is becoming increasingly obvious that the whole point of the Covid-19 operation is to introduce the mRNA vaccine. We’re watching, in real time, as almost all governments across the world are pushing their populations beyond the breaking point economically and psychologically in order to carry out this unprecedented and coercive global mass vaccination campaign.
Their desperation to vaccinate every human on earth with mRNA injections is immensely suspicious in and of itself.
This grand experiment is being legalized and decreed by public officials who are completely controlled by and beholden to financial behemoths that, not surprisingly, have an enormous portion of their portfolios tied to the fate of Big Pharma and the “disease management” system.
"Health management” has replaced the war machine as the world’s primary money-spinner. The so-called power elites need to produce and perpetuate multiple large-scale health crises to keep the medical-industrial complex going.
The plan is for the mRNA “vaccines” and drugs to become Big Pharma’s new medical and business model, launching a “revolutionary” wave of financialized Bio-Pharma “disease management,” where pesky regulations that reduce profits and clinical trials that reveal major harms will be wiped out in the blink of an eye.
Here’s how it seems the scheme will operate and be advertised: The mRNA delivery system will consist of a “new” kind of vaccine that can be “downloaded” whenever there is any alleged pathogen or disease in existence.
This “new vaccine" can be updated quickly, especially in relation to the slow process of approving regular vaccines in the old days.
Better yet, this “new vaccine" can be updated at minimal cost compared to the huge R&D costs pharma companies have had up until now.
Thus, this "new vaccine” will be immediately ready for any and all emergencies that the World Health Organization continually invents.
Plus, all the “new vaccine" rollouts will be subsidized via public-private partnerships underwritten by the likes of the World Economic Forum, the Gates Foundation, Wellcome Trust, the International Monetary Fund, Bloomberg, BlackRock, and their money-spinning associates.
But that’s not all.
The whole point of creating the Covid “vaccine” is to induce us to accept vaccine passports. Vaccines, in other words, are the Trojan horse that wheels the vaccine passports into every community on the map. The passports, in turn, will be used as a vehicle for imposing digital and biometric ID cards upon the world’s population as a means of social control.
Since March 2020, we in the West have been living through one of the darkest chapters of the most homicidal abuses of power in history. Governments are inventing one “emergency” law after another to justify their dark dictatorial desires and limitless abuses of power. Their goal is to destroy the world as we know it and “Build Back Better” through a “Great Reset” that leads us directly into digital feudalism.
It is not an exaggeration to say that society is standing on the precipice of fascism.
But all of this depends on getting the public to go along with rolling health scares.
If seen in a positive light, Covid can serve as a huge wake-up call. We can use it as an opportunity to escape from the medical tyranny matrix, a chance to revisit everything we’ve ever been taught about the “story” written by the victors. It’s a story of endless covert wars concocted for the purpose of pitting the New World Order against The People.
The Covid terror campaign, which we’ve witnessed throughout our “medical tyranny timeline” series, is evidence of the war being fought against the citizens of the world by their governments, by the mainstream media, by Big Pharma and Big Tech—all of them acting like robber barons of the technocratic age.
Those of us who see Covid for the hoax it is and who see the pandemic as the “scamdemic” it is have never been more certain of anything in our lives than that we need to NOT accept the experimental poisons and the despotic control of the NWO.
This war being waged against us, masquerading as a pandemic, has a limited lifespan. The poisons we’re being injected with can only be pushed on us for so long until, at last, even the sleepiest of the sleepy come out of their stupor.
To the people fighting the good fight, one day you will be remembered. Never give up and never lose faith. And when this house of cards finally falls, we’ll all raise a glass in celebration.
