Re: Support for H.R. 5816, National Informed Consent Exemption (NICE) Act
Congressman Gohmert,
Health Freedom Defense Fund is (HFDF) commends your efforts and courage in bringing a
bill to protect bodily autonomy. We are writing this letter to show our support for your
efforts to protect each and every American’s medical freedom. Americans are being flooded
with conflicting information surrounding a highly politicized crisis but as Justice Gorsuch
recently wrote in his concurring opinion to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn and
Agudath Israel of America, et al., “even in a pandemic, the Constitution cannot be put away
and forgotten.” The only Constitutional imperative is to maintain the individual’s right to
make medical choices free of coercion or duress. We know that bringing forward a bill of
this nature was not easy, but it is necessary to protect our individual liberty.
At Health Freedom Defense Fund we stand for freedom, choice, and the most basic of
human rights, bodily autonomy. This bill ensures that American’s have the right to choose
what is injected into their body. We support the NICE Act as it encompasses the primary
tenets of our mission. Health care was never designed to be one-size-fits-all and the practice
of ethical medicine requires voluntary informed consent. It is the right of every American
to choose what they put into and on their bodies.
Thank you for your efforts to bring forth legislation for the people. We are asking all
Americans to join in support of this bill not only for ourselves but for future generations.
