This study admits that bowel intussesception (the collapsing of intestines) after children are vaccinated with Rotarix against rotavirus. 108 children in VAERS had the condition, mostly right after the shot, and 44% of them required surgery. The shot is still listed in the CDC schedule.
Comments
This paper outlined the reports to VAERS of 108 children who experience severe effects after rotavirus vaccine, specificallybowel intussusception, with most happening within 3-8 days after the first dose and 2-7 days after the second dose. The auuthors tried to downplay the previous rotavirus shot was withdrawn for this side effect in the US. The current vaccine at question in this study (Rotarix) had a member of the regulatory advisory board personally invested in its approval.
