Summary Context
This study showed that wild-type rotavirus infection does not cause the dangerous side effect associated with the two rotavirus injections– bowel intussusception. It also shows it may be protective against the event.

This study conducted in Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Vietnam found that rotavirus infection from wild-type virus did not result in bowel intussusception, a well-known dangerous side-effect of rotavirus vaccination. It even showed a potentially protective effect against it.
