This study showed that the adverse events of concern were clearly a replicable issue– drawing on this registry of 99 million recipients. It also identified worrying new conditions and reactions for further investigation. Study is somewhat impacted by relatively small number of recipients who received the ChAdOx1 (Oxford) vaccine that is not an mRNA platform. Some notable statistics: Roughly 6x rates of myocarditis following injection, almost 4x rates of acute disseminated encephalomyelitis. Almost 2.5x the rate of Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) and 3x rate of cerebral thrombosis (CVST) after the Oxford injection.

“The Global COVID Vaccine Safety (GCoVS) Project, established in 2021 under the multinational Global Vaccine Data Network™ (GVDN®), facilitates comprehensive assessment of vaccine safety. This study aimed to evaluate the risk of adverse events of special interest (AESI) following COVID-19 vaccination from 10 sites across eight countries. Results: This multi-country analysis confirmed pre-established safety signals for myocarditis, pericarditis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. Other potential safety signals that require further investigation were identified.”
