This review of autopsy information in five deceased people from 15-50 years old who had been diagnosed with autism found 67% of their brain tissue had physiologically significant levels of aluminum, and they were more prevalent in males where most deposits were intracellular. White blood cells in the meninges had extremely high levels of aluminum in them, which is one potential mechanism of transfer to the brain through the lymphatic system.
